Basics of Met3D
MetIndustrial Digital Front End (DFE)
MetIndustrial is our most versatile Industrial Inkjet DFE to date. MetIndustrial includes a slew of built-in features along with a variety of optional software packages that allow MetIndustrial to be implemented across a variety of print systems including single-pass, scanning, and 3D applications. Whether you are looking to build a new industrial inkjet system or are interested in adding functionality on to an existing system, this ready-to-use DFE helps eliminate the need for custom coding on the DFE side. The software is designed for use alongside Meteor's printhead drive electronics, which offer support for printheads from nine of the world's leading printhead manufacturers.
MetIndustrial's User Interface
MetIndustrial's User Interface allows for easy motion system integration and offers the following benefits:
* Brandable user interface means you can customize the software to show your corporate logo or product branding.
* Offers remote access via TCP/IP, allowing for monitor and control of printing.
* Includes the ability to calculate ink/fluid usage.
* Includes the ability to setup various built-in PrintModes, allowing users to quickly select commonly stored print parameters.
* Includes NozzleFix™ compensation for missing nozzles.
Offering Custom Configurations and Stitch Settings
MetIndustrial's Head Positions tab allows a system designer to efficiently arrange printheads within a printbar quickly and easily. And with different stitching methods available (Butt, AABB, Randomized Gradient, Overprint, and Dither along with the ability to add in a customer stitch mask file), you can ensure you are getting the best stitching available for your application.
Variety of easily selectable stitch methods
Configure for multiple inks/fluids
Works with all current Meteor board configurations
Versatile, configurable interface for Print Trigger (Product Detect) and Encoder signals
If you are building a system for any of the following or have a project that requires a custom print method outside of what is listed on this site, please contact us for more information:
Single-Pass for Web Printing
Single-Pass for Sheet and Object Printing
Bi-Directional and Uni-Directional Scanning Printing
3D Printing for Additive Manufacturing
Monochrome, 4-Color, and Extended Gamut printing
Multi-Material for 3D, Industrial, and Biotech printing
Single Pass Applications
Web fed systems for Variable Data Printing
Direct to object printing
Conveyor driven sheet and object print systems
Support for FIFO, Preload, and Mixed Mode datapaths
Scanning Applications
Typically used to print larger area with single printhead
Uni-directional and Bi-Directional printing
Multi-Scan printing for larger print areas
Multi-Pass printing to print multiple passes over same area
Print images are automatically cut into swaths for each scanning pass
3D, Additive Manufacturing, and Manufacturing Automation Applications
Single Pass Scanning provides fastest method for binder jet 3D printing
Uni-directional and Bi-directional printing
Multiple fluid types can be used in same print system
Manufacturing Automation systems can use both single pass and scanning print methods
NozzleFix™ - Compensate for Missing Nozzles
Using the built-in MetCal feature, a user can print the NozzleFix test pattern(s) to identify defective nozzle(s). Durign the process, the user captures a digital image of the test pattern and drops the image into the NozzleFix Hot Folder. MetCal will then automatically apply the NozzleFix compensation to ensure the best quality output.
MetRemote - Monitor & Control Printing via TCP/IP (included with MetIndustrial)
Monitor system & print job status
Control printing remotely. Select Job, Print Mode, number of copies, etc.
SimPrint - Simulated Print Analysis Application (included with MetIndustrial)
SimPrint uses same data that drives the printheads to produce a simulation of printing. The analysis tools that are part of SimPrint allow for custom zoom levels and easy viewing of stitch bands. Users can also set the preview color for each plane and enable/disable which planes are being viewed.
Status Monitor - Engineer’s Dashboard (included with MetIndustrial)
Within Meteor Monitor, the Status tab offers in-depth dashboard monitoring to show what is happening in the Meteor PrintEngine. Monitor can be used to display a wide range of parameters in a live/updated state; this includes printer state, print frequency, connection status, printhead temperatures, and more. The Debug tab within Monitor lists out a live update of events. Meteor's built-in Send Status Report button gathers comprehensive information including logfiles, config file, waveforms, and more; the software then saves the data to a .zip file, allowing your team or our team to analyze the details if needed.
Optional Packages for MetIndustrial
eLabPro™
eLabPro can RIP PDF, TIFF, or JPG directly to MetIndustrial utilizing 1-bit, 2-bit, or 4-bits per pixel. eLabPro can also be controlled by command line for system integration and offers monochrome or color separations.
Met3D™
Met3D slices and RIPs STL object files directly to MetIndustrial. 1-bit, 2-bit, or 4-bit per pixel with support for grayscale and multiple material (multi-material) 3D or Additive Printing.
Variegator™
Variegator is a stand-alone PDF editing application that provides the ability to add variable data content to static PDF files.
PrintFlat™ – Quality optimization to remove visible artifacts due to printhead variation, stitching or wear by creating a unique calibration for each printer.
